Wine of the Week
Tinte Cellars 2018 Viognier
Appellation: Columbia Valley
The winemaking of Noah Fox Reed with continued vineyard sourcing from Gamache and Conner Lee in the Columbia Basin means this new brand in Woodinville hasn’t lost its way with Viognier following the purchase of William Church Winery by Tim Gamble and Teresa Spellman Gamble. Even though it is a new label, this remains a classic expression of Viognier as guava and orange Creamsicle are met by Asian pear acidity and capped by Gala apple peel. Last summer, the beautiful example of a white Rhône received a gold medal at the Whatcom Beer and Wine Foundation’s Bellingham Northwest Wine Festival. In October, it went on to earn Platinum during the 20th annual Platinum Judging staged by Wine Press Northwest.
