Wine of the Week
Water from Wine 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation: Horse Heaven Hills
Water From Wine, a Paterson, Wash., winery, brought in grapes from its 6-acre vineyard at Sandpiper Farms in the Horse Heaven Hills for this excellent Cab crafted in Richland by Charlie "Wine Boss" Hoppes. Pat Tucker, whose family established Sandpiper Farms in 1974, created this young brand to raise funds for groups working to provide clean water around the world. Their wine, hand-harvested by volunteers, features rich black cherry, blackberry and blueberry aromas and flavors. The finish of blackcurrant, dark chocolate and abundant tannins helped it earn a gold medal at the 2018 Cascadia International Wine Competition in Richland.
