Appellation: Oregon
Anyone who has followed the recent history of this Southern Oregon vineyard should not be surprised that it can turn out a wine of this level. Located near Medford, this Rogue Valley vineyard has its name on many other wineries' bottles. Under its own label, the results are similarly superior. On the nose are elegant aromas of bright Rainier cherries, hints of oak and a little chocolate. Tongue-coating flavors include lush, ripe cherries and pomegranate juice, and the juicy mouth feel gives way to a moderately long finish. Rated "Outstanding" by Wine Press Northwest magazine.
Price: $28.
Cases produced: 149 cases. Look for this in better wine shops or higher-end groceries or order directly from the winery.
Food matches: Enjoy this with prime rib, grilled steaks or a hearty helping of rich lasagna.
