Jones of Washington 2016 Riesling

June 9, 2018

Appellation: Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley

Best Buy! The combination of Jones family fruit from the remarkable Two Gun Estate Vineyard near Quincy, Wash., with winemaking by Victor Palencia leads to stellar Riesling year after year. It again hits the mark of excellence, with just a hint of petrol atop lime and citrus notes, then lime, peach and apricot flavors in the mouth. It retains a bit of sweetness at 2.9% residual sugar, but that's easily balanced by the brilliant job of handling the vibrant acidity. For the second straight year, it earned a gold medal at the annual spring Cascadia International Wine Competition.

Rating: Outstanding! by Great Northwest Wine. (11.7% alc.)

Price: $10

Production: 1,801 cases

Food pairings: Enjoy with spicy fare as well as Asian-inspired dishes.

The Joneses operate tasting rooms in Quincy as well as in the engaging Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee.
