Italian varieties sought for competition

June 4, 2013

Wine Press Northwest is seeking red wines made from Italian varieties for peer tasting competition. The judging will be conducted by Great Northwest Wine. There is no entry fee.

This competition is for red wines using grapes of traditional Italian origin, including Zinfandel, Primitivo, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Sangiovese, Dolcetto and Montepulciano. We will accept blends that include non-Italian varieties, but the blend must comprise at least 75% of Italian varieties.

The judging will take place June 27, so all wines need to arrive no later than June 24. Results will be published in the Labor Day issue of Wine Press Northwest and be posted to winepressnw.com.
