— Jeff & Vicki Gordon of Gordon Estate announced the opening of their new wine bar at Broadmoor Park in Pasco. The newly-renovated space (formerly the “food court”) offers wine tasting, wines by the glass or bottle, and a menu of small plates, salads and sandwiches.

The wine bar opened to the public on April 27, and will be celebrating its official grand opening on May 10 with a ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m. followed by live music with Dave & Scott at 7p.m. The event is open to the public, according to a press release from Gordon Estate.

The Wine Bar features a variety of seating for approximately 90 people. There are three different areas in the bar. The main wine bar area has the majority of the seating, and features a large granite-top bar and soft lighting with space for live musicians to perform. Décor includes an antique pump organ, a Victrola phonograph and a 1908 Chicago Grand upright piano which is a family heirloom of Vicki Gordon’s.

Through the French doors is the “Tradition Room” which will be used for small, private tastings and groups. It features the original artwork by Sandra Jones-Campbell that Gordon Estate uses on its wine labels, as well as a bar built by Jeff Gordon’s grandfather, Herb Wagner.

The section in the back of the bar is called the “Indoor Patio” and can be separated from the rest of the room by a large glass roll-up door. Glass doors to the outside can be opened up when weather permits, and eventually the Gordons plan to have outdoor seating.

“We realized that we were missing the retail side of the business and that our visibility in the community was waning. This wine bar is our answer to that,” says Jeff Gordon. Loretta Ramos-Tucker was hired in February to manage the wine bar, and she has assembled a staff to cook, pour tastings and serve guests. She says, “I want customers to have the feeling of comfort; like they are coming home to relax and unwind. Hospitality is our number one priority!”

Regular wine bar hours are: Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The wine bar address is 5236 Outlet Drive, Pasco.
