Jones of Washington 2012 Riesling

April 23, 2013

Appellation: Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley

This is the first wine we've seen sporting the Ancient Lakes appellation on the label, and it is a beautiful way to celebrate the new federally recognized viticultural area. The aromas open like a politician at a fundraiser, promising everything — peaches, oranges, limes and apricots — and pledging the flavors will bring even more riches. In the mouth, it delivers a cornucopia of fruit cocktail, including tropical elements that include guava. This one sets the bar for Riesling lovers. Won a gold medal at the Great Northwest Wine Competition. (12.3 percent alcohol)

Price: $12.

Cases produced: 761.

Food matches: Pair it with your Sunday brunch or Asian fare.
