Vintage Oregon Grand Tasting cancelled

April 4, 2013

— “It’s with a great deal of angst that I’m informing you that we have canceled our Vintage Oregon grand tasting event that was scheduled for April 28 in Portland,” said Charles Humble, Director of Communications and Interactive marketing for the Oregon Wine Board in an email distributed April 4.

The email said the decision to cancel was the result of circumstances beyond the control of the Oregon Wine Board.

The event was scheduled for the Leftbank Annex, the same venue as used last year. “Last week, we learned through a third party that other events were not receiving permits from the City of Portland. When we reached out to the venue, we were informed of the problem,” Hubble said in the email.

“We looked at over 40 venues as possible substitutes, but at this late date, it was impossible to find a suitable venue. We regret that we’ve had to make this decision, but we are pushing forward with Oregon Wine Month in May and plan to host Vintage Oregon in 2014,” he added.
