Olsen Estates 2007 Estate Riesling

Appellation: Yakima Valley

Rising popularity of this German variety is bringing the spotlight back to Washington's oldest appellation, and this is a delightful and fruitful Riesling from a multi-generation farming family in Prosser. Aromas of sugared pink grapefruit, Orange Crush soda, honeysuckle and lychee don't disappoint your tongue. In fact, think of an adult Orange Crush with spritely acidity to balance the midpoint sweetness (1.9% residual sugar) in a bright fashion. Rated "Outstanding" by Wine Press Northwest magazine.

Price: $18.

Cases produced: 420.

Food matches: Enjoy this off-dry white with spicy fare, including Thai, Indian, Vietnamese or Mexican dishes.
