  • It has long been rumored that the few rows of vines at the entrance to Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, Wash., were required so the winery could be called a "chateau."

Where in NW Wine Country: June 30, 2009

Poll:
Where was this photo taken?

Apparently, when it comes to size, there is no mystery, especially in the case of last week's photo, which fooled very few of you.

Some 74% correctly guessed that the wall of barrels was at Columbia Crest in Paterson, Wash., still the Northwest's biggest winery. Meanwhile, 18% thought the photo was taken at the Northwest's second-largest producer, Chateau Ste. Michelle, while 8% wondered if the photo was taken at A to Z Wineworks in Dundee, Ore., the Beaver State's largest winery. And absolutely nobody thought the photo was from Mission Hill Family Estate, a large producer in Westbank, British Columbia.

This week's image, taken by Jackie Johnston of Wine Country Creations, should prove to be a much greater challenge.
