Wine Yakima Valley pairs artists with wineries for Savor the Art

Wine Yakima Valley is introducing a pairing for connoisseurs of art and wine called Savor the Art during October.

Wine Yakima Valley will be pairing 31 regional Washington artists with Yakima Valley wineries to display their artwork in tasting rooms. Throughout October, visitors can sample and buy wine and art.

Wine Yakima Valley will launch Savor the Art with a winemaker and artist reception from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Terra Blanca Vintners. Wineries and artists will gather at Terra Blanca to offer a taste of Yakima Valley's finest art and wines including Syrah, Merlot, Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier and more.

The event will include an auction with a collection of outstanding Yakima Valley wines and original art pieces inspired by Eastern Washington wine country.

Tickets are $20 and include light appetizers, wine tasting from local wineries and an opportunity to view and bid on one-of-a-kind art pieces. For tickets, go to www.wineyakimavalley.org.

The goal of Savor the Art is to develop awareness of the Yakima Valley wine industry among Pacific Northwest residents and to celebrate the completion of harvest.
